Evening Sun Suffolk Lane


This is the first of my pictures from the Suffolk trip last week. It's a 10x12 oil on panel (MDF covered in butter muslin and then oil primed). What struck me was the warmth of the
late evening sunlight contasted against the relative cool of the shadows on the large expanse of wall. I have deliberately pushed the colour contrasts a bit to try and capture the essence of the scene.
Back to the easel now - more paintings to follow soon.

Keith, it's brilliant as you Brits like to say! You've made a very simple scene sing. The color comes across as very believable and not "pushed" at all. Great comp as always and the color palette so harmonious. Can't wait to see more.

Thanks Marilyn. I'm sure the limited palette heleped with the harmony (Cad Yellow Lt, Cad Orange, Ultramarine and white).
